Winter Haven – Carl Wakefield, 75, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Winter Haven Hospital due to heart failure.

Born May 5, 1936 in Scandia, KS, he lived in Lee’s Summit, MO and was a winter resident of Winter Haven, FL.  Carl retired from Wal-Mart as a district manager and was a member of Woods Chapel Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit.

He is survived by: his wife, Myra R. Wakefield; 2 sons, Curtis Wakefield of Ozark, MO and Chris Wakefield and his wife Karen of Houston, TX; 3 step-sons, James J. Johns of Lane, KS, Jeffrey E. Johns of Lakeview, TN and J. Mike Johns of Grandview, MO; a grand-daughter, Cara E. Wakefield; 8 step-grandchildren, Jason Johns, Matt Johns , Jeffrey Johns, Jonathan Johns, Michael Johns, Mason Johns, Cameron Johns, and Amanda Sepulveda; and one great-grandchild, Kaden Jay Sepulveda.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, January 27, 2012 in the Four Lakes Clubhouse.
