
HAINES CITY - Colonel, Harry A. McMullen, Retired, USAR, 80, of Haines City, FL passed away on January 25, 2012 at his residence of cancer.
He was born in Franklin, PA on July 5, 1931. Harry was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean War and retired after some 28 years as a Colonel, next he went to work for PENELEC and he retired from there after 30 plus years as a superintendant of Administration. Harry was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Davenport, and a life time member of the VFW of Johnstown, PA, a life time member of the Shriners Lodge of Altoona, PA, a life time member of the Elks, and he received his 50 year membership of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of Clearfield Lodge No 314 and a 50 year membership of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Florida where he was a member of Traveler's Lodge # 390; and in his spare time he also volunteered at Heart of Florida Auxiliary.
Harry is predeceased by his parents and 2 brothers and 2 sisters and he is survived by his loving wife, of 58 years, Edith McMullen; son, Dean A. McMullen of Lewisville, TX; grandson, Reed (Melissa) McMullen of Ft. Wainwright, AK; son, Harry A. (Melissa) McMullen, Jr. of Johnstown, PA; brothers, Donald and Charles McMullen.
A memorial service will be Monday, 1/30/12 at 11 am at Sweetwater Golf and Tennis Clubhouse. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Horizon Church, PO Box 145, Davenport, FL 33837 or Travelers Lodge #390 F.&A.M. 260 Pomelo, Lake Alfred, FL 33850.
