Lake Alfred -  Beatrice Lucy Friesner, 97, of Lake Alfred, FL died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Astoria Health and Rehabilitation center due to heart failure.

Born September 17, 1914 in Batavia, NY  she moved here in 1933.  She was a homemaker; volunteered as a “Pink Lady” at Winter Haven Hospital; was a member of the Winter Haven Garden Club; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; and in 1936 she was the Florida Citrus Queen.

Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John Wesley Friesner, Jr, she is survived by: 3 daughters, Jobee Hazlet of Lake Alfred, Mary F. Beckel of Tampa and Pat Kirkland of Lake Alfred; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.   

A Celebration of Life will be 1:00pm, Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven.  Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park.
