WINTER HAVEN, FL - JoAnn Phillips Meadows of Wahneta, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Winter Haven Hospital from congestive heart failure.  She was 71. 

A native of Samson, AL, born June 13, 1938, JoAnn has lived in this area her whole life.  She retired as Manager of Hughes IGA in Wahneta where she worked for 35 years. 

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband Louie, son Mark, daughter Janet Jones, brother J.W. Phillips, and her father Dewey Phillips.  She is survived by her sons Cary (Tammy) Meadows of Winter Haven, and Jay Allen Meadows of Wahneta, her grandchildren: Erik Jones, Chad (Caitlin), Crystal, Jaycee & Sydnee Meadows, and her great grandchildren: MacKenzie & Alora Jones.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven.  Funeral services will be Friday, 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Wahneta.  Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.  Condolences to the family can be sent to:  www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
