HAINES CITY - Angel Ortiz Leon was born June 7, 1939 in the lovely town of Maunabo, "The Tranquil City ", Puerto Rico.  Was the son of Ulpiano Ortiz and Eliodora Leon.

He looked with favorable eyes upon Carmen M. Sanchez from the Manatí quarter, Puerto Rico and married her in Manhattan, New York, April 1961. They raised four children: Violet, Lillian, Carmen Angelica and Angel. All serve the Lord Jesus.  

Angel was a distinguished working man from an early age. He found profound joy and great satisfaction in his labor.  Whether he was stuffing toy animals in a dark factory in Brooklyn, New York or he was washing dishes in a brilliant hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, he labored intensely and rose in position until he was a supervisor of others or reached the highest rank attainable in his department.    He strived to give the maximum to his work, and he never forgot to supply economically to his family.   

Angel Ortiz received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior a warm day in August 2008 in the beautiful state of Florida. He was baptized in the waters by his son-in-law, Rev. Getulio Cruz Jr, December 31 2009, in the presence of a majority of his closest family.  After completing this sacred assignment from God, his celestial Father gave him the privilege to bless, jointly with his beloved wife Carmen, each of his daughters, Violeta Rosario, Lillian Ortiz - Cruz,  Carmen A. Miranda, son Angel Ortiz, Jr.,  7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.   

Angel parted with his Redeemer Jesus Christ, May 8, 2010 from his home in Haines City, Florida, enveloped in the fresh peace of his Savior and the loving serenity of his family: wife, Carmen M. Sanchez, his daughters, son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   

We shall never forget his example of fervent laborer, faithful provider, and complete surrender to Christ and constant love for all his family.
