EAGLE LAKE - Melanie Lee, 57, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Winter Haven Hospital due to complications from cancer.

She was born April 23, 1953 in Winter Haven, FL ,and had resided in Auburndale, Orlando, Belle Glade, Fort Pierce , Lake Wales and recently moved to Eagle Lake.

She is survived by: her husband of 17 years, Milton Lee; two sons, Jason (Becky) Platt and their children, Tyler and Jaina Platt of Auburndale and Justin (Tanya) Platt and their children, Macyn and Maddox Platt of Auburndale; her parents, E.L. and Fayma Johns of Auburndale; two sisters, Benita (Gene) Stacy of Eagle Lake and Jerilyn (Wallace) Cooley of Fort Pierce, FL; two nieces, three nephews, five great-nephews, five great-nieces; aunts and cousins.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Melanie was a homemaker, an accomplished pianist and poet.  She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Auburndale where she provided music in the past years.   She had also worked for State Farm and Watson Clinic.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm till 3:00pm, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven.  Funeral Services will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.  Condolences may be sent at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
