WINTER HAVEN - Paul Colton Halstead, Sr., 94, of Winter Haven, FL and Long Island, NY, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at his residence in Winter Haven due to natural causes.

Born November 29, 1915 in Watertown, MA he was a self-employed Aeronautical Engineer and Aviation was his Passion and his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Flying Cadets; a Founding member of Civil Air Patrol reaching the rank of Col.; Member of Quiet Birdmen;  OX5 Aviation Pioneers; and the United Flying Octogenarians or UFO.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion. He is survived by his children Paul Jr. of Cincinnatus, NY, and Gail Southard of Colorado Springs, CO; a brother Gordon in Ct.; and 7 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. 

He requested cremation and his ashes are to be placed in Fair Haven Cemetery, Fair Haven, Vt in the family plot.
