
WINTER HAVEN, FL - Shirley Ann (Duncan) Powell, 78, of Winter Haven, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Winter Haven Hospital due to heart failure.
A native of Muskogee, OK, born October 6, 1931, Shirley moved here in 1949. She was a Physical Therapist for the Newberry Clinic of Chiropractic. She also was a member of Westwood Missionary Baptist Church; The Singles Club; VFW Auxiliary; American Legion Auxiliary; and the Moose Lodge, all of Winter Haven. Shirley was predeceased by a son: Donald Douglas Duncan. She is survived by her daughters: Melony McAuley (John) of Lakeland, Darlene Plemons of Winter Haven, Darla Cook (Charles) of Bartow; her sons: Ronald Clarence Duncan of Winter Haven, Charles H. Duncan, Jr. (Sherri) of Auburndale, and Terry Lee Duncan of Tallahassee. Shirley also had 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her extended family: Dr. Gary Newberry & Stacy, Kim Gaines, and the staff & families of Newberry Clinic.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 3, 2010 from 5 to 7 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 PM.
