HAINES CITY, FLORIDA - Thomas Donald Grimes of Haines City, Florida died on March 27, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in Tampa, Florida as a result of an automobile accident. He was 69.

He was born on March 6, 1941, in Coffee County, Alabama, to Seth Grimes and Mary Stinson Grimes and moved to the Haines City area in 1957, from Jacksonville, Florida. He was a supervisor for Freeze Point, now Burris Storage, a food storage warehouse in Haines City for 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Diane Forrester Grimes, in 2005 and his parents and is survived by sons, Donald Grimes of Tampa, Florida, Shawn Grimes of Haines City; daughters, Angie Grimes and Wendy Aguero, both of Haines City, Florida; brothers, O'Neal Grimes of New Brockton, Alabama, Alen Grimes of Temple, Georgia; sister, Julia Cox of Baker, Florida; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City. Funeral services wil be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the funeral home, with O'Neal Grimes officiating. Final resting place will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, Florida.
