ORLANDO, FL - William A. "Whitey" Truax of Haines City passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 from cancer at Select Specialty Hospital in Orlando.  He was 73. 

 

A native of Rossi, New York, born May 7, 1937, Bill moved here 5 years ago from Litchfield, CT.  He retired from L.G. DeFelice Co. after over 40 years as a Project Superintendant, and later on he worked for Arbario Construction.  He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Haines City, and was a member of the Winson (NY) Masonic Lodge #422 F & AM. 

 

Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean;  his sons: Kevin Truax of Haines City, and Craig (Teresa) Truax of Litchfield, CT; his brothers: Jimmy Truax of Massina, NY, Donald Truax of Ft. Myers, FL, Bruce Truax of Massina, NY, and Lincoln Truax of Massina, NY; his sisters:  Betty Pelky of Norfolk, NY, Catherine Knight of Tonawanda, NY, and Grace Godreau of Holwell, NJ.  His brother, Robert Truax predeceased him.  He also has 3 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
