WINTER HAVEN - Betty Jean Mize, 76, of Winter Haven, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Residence in Auburndale center due to heart failure.

Born April 2, 1934 to Roy and Edith Gunter Woodard in Winter Haven, FL she moved back to the area in 1980.  She was a Certified Nurse’s Assistant  and a member of Calvary Church in Winter Haven. 

Preceded in death by her husband Grover Franklin Mize in 1974; she is survived by: a son Frank Mize of Winter Haven; a daughter, Cindy Benning of Plant City, FL; 2 brothers, Jimmy Woodard and Buddy Woodard; 2 sisters, Barbara Strickland and Susie Jackson; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Calvary Church, 3800 Recker Hwy., Winter Haven, FL with Pastor Michael Spivey officiating.  In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.
