HAINES CITY - Gary L. "Mad Dog" Melton, age 55, of Haines City, Fl passed away Thursday (Jan. 7, 2010) at his home from cancer.

Mr. Melton was born March 13, 1954 in  Detroit, Michigan, the son of John O. and Clara Bell (Bean) Melton. He worked as a truck driver and in the maintenance department of Outdoor Resort in Orlando. He was a member of the Redemption Baptist Church in Juanita, Winter Haven and the Haines City Moose Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Melton in 1991 and is survived by: his wife of 28 years Christine Melton; Daughter, Angela Smith of Winter Haven, 3 Sons, Gary Rench of Monticello, NY. Roger Melton of Haines City, and Justin Melton of Haines City; his father, John O. Melton of Great Bend, Kansas; 5 Brothers, Dwayne Russon of Missouri, Ronnie Melton of Lake Wales, Lawrence Melton of Great Bend, Kansas Roger Johnson of Michigan and Ray Russon of Kansas; 2 Sisters Glenell Stacy of Haines City and Loretta Byington of Missouri; and 2 Grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 PM. till 5 PM. Sunday (1/10/2010) and services will be 11:00 AM.  Monday at the Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City, Florida.  Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City. FL. After the Service family and friends will gather at the Haines City Moose Lodge.
