
HAINES CITY - Slim Lovell, age 82, passed away January 18, 2010 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale of Cancer.
He was born August 8, 1927 in Banks County, Georgia to Virgil Lovell and Hattie Taylor. He moved to Haines City in 1949. He was a member of Stillwater Christian Life Center of Haines City, Florida.
Slim worked most of his life in the service station business and retired after 27 years at Loyds Standard Service Station.
He will be remembered as a man who knew no strangers and someone who could be counted on to be there when needed, but most of all, he will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie M. Lovell. Survived by his daughter, Denise and husband Bobby Lynch of Davenport, FL; son, Richard and wife Deborah Deese of Haines City, FL; daughter, Phyllis and husband Nathan Justice of Anchorage, AK; sisters, Jessie Brungard of Warner Robbins, GA; and Equilla Thompson of Penfield, GA; 6 grandchildren, Bridget Butler, Nathan Justice II, Krista Fischer, Jason Deese, Ryan Lynch, and Brooke Lynch; 4 great grandchildren, Lacy Butler, Sarah Butler, Brycen Fischer, and Kelsey Lynch.
Visitation will be Friday, 1/22/10, from 5 to 7 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will be at 11am on Saturday at Stillwater Christian Life Center, Haines City. Graveside services will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.
