HAINES CITY - Annie Laura Thrower Garrett, 81, of Haines City, FL passed away on February 4, 2010 in Haines City due to congestive heart failure.

She was born March 24, 1928 in Grady, Alabama and moved to Haines City from Alabama around 1945. Ann owned Thrower’s Grocery in Haines City and also worked for Haines City Citrus Growers Assoc., she was also a member of Westside Baptist Church. Ann loved to bake cakes, if you ever did anything for her you were assured to get a cake.

Her son, Guy Martin Thrower of Merritt Island, FL; daughter, Janice Thrower Kobs of Haines City; grandchildren, Laurie Ann Kobs, John Kobs, Chancey Thrower Phillips and great grandchildren, Kyla and Trevor Phillips, survive her. 

A visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 pm and services will be Monday, 2/8/10 at 11 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City.
