George Oliver Akins

George Akins

 

 

George Oliver Akins, 68, of Davenport, FL, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at Osceola Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired owner/operator of an interior design business.


George was born on Jan. 12, 1942 in Brentwood, NH, the son of Floyd and Claire Akins. He lived in New Hampshire and married his sweetheart, Judith Adams, on August 10, 1963. He studied to be an electrician and worked for years for Riley’s Electric until he moved to Florida.
In his retirement, he and wife, Judy, enjoyed traveling with their dogs, Rusty and Charlie, in their beautiful RV meeting many new friends who have become very dear to them.

George was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Akins.

He is survived by his wife, Judith, sisters Carmen Cardoza (Michael), Linda Dudley and Ellen Johnston (Bill), brothers Ellis Akins (Alicia) and Bill Akins. He is also survived by his two beloved dogs, Rusty and Charlie.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Feb. 17, 12 noon at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 1311 Robinson Dr., Haines City, FL. Burial immediately following at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City. After the burial a reception will be held at the Deer Creek RV Resort main clubhouse.
