HAINES CITY - James M. Pipes, 81, of Haines City, FL passed away on April 20, 2010 at his residence due to COPD.

He was born December 17, 1928 in Corrina, ME to Millard and Ruby Hovey Pipes and has been wintering here for 10 years. James was a financial consultant having worked for several companies; he was a Christian and a veteran of the US Army serving post WW II. He was the President of the Lion’s Club and the Country Club in Presque Isle, ME and he was active in the Republican Party.

James was predeceased by his parents; wife, Lois Pipes and brother, Robert Pipes.

He is survived by his sons, Andrew Pipes of Maine and Barton Pipes of New York; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be today, 4/23/10 at 2:00 pm at Lake Henry Estates Club House. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
