LAKELAND, FL - Lillian Carlton, 87, of Lakeland, Formerly of Winter Haven and Melbourne, FL died Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Cathy's Adult Family Care due to heart failure.

Born December 29, 1921 in Miami, Florida, She moved to Polk County 3 years ago from Melbourne, FL.  She was a retired Bookkeeper and was a member of the Eau Gallie Baptist Church in Melbourne.

Preceded in death by: her husband, R.A. Carlton, Jr. and a son, Russell A. Carlton, III, she is survived by: 2 sons, Bob Carlton and his wife Harriette of Polk City, FL and Jim Carlton of Miami, FL; 2 nieces and several other family members.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am till 12:00pm, Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, FL.   A graveside service will follow at 3:00 in the Joshua Creek Cemetery, Arcadia, FL with Rev. Clayton Barker officiating.
