DAVENPORT - Wilfred L. "Bill" Benoit, Jr., 86, of Davenport, FL, formerly of Somerset, MA, passed away on August 3, 2009 due to heart failure.
He was born November 23, 1922 in Fall River, MA to Wilfred L. Benoit, Sr. and the former Dora Paradise. Bill was a Mason and owner of Benoit, Burns, & Cyr Plasterers and also the former Riverside Café in Somerset, retiring from Electric Boat of Quonset, RI. Bill served in WW II in the Army Air Corps and was stationed at Burtonwood Air Base in England, where he met his future wife, Margaret Cook. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on December 2, 2008.
Bill is also survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Paul) Peloquin of Davenport, and Barbara Benoit and Joanne Benoit also of Florida; grandchildren, Laura MacDonald of Lewiston, ME and William MacDonald of Fall River. His siblings, Winifred, Victory, Eugene and George, preceded Bill in death.
A visitation will be on Friday, 8/7/09 from 2-4 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Inurnment will take place at FL National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Condolences may be sent via www.oakridgefuneralcare.com
