WINTER HAVEN - Katie Shytle 72, mother and homemaker of Winter Haven, Fl, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, of a respiratory illness at the Winter Haven Hospital.
She was an active member of North Ridge Church where she taught Sunday School & worked with children for many years. Katie also served as V. President of Barcelona Condominium Association.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Estelle Johnson, Sr.; brothers, Johnny, Larry O. & Richard L. Johnson.
In addition to her husband of 52 years James B. Shytle, she is survived by 3 children, Rubin, David & Katie Jane Shytle; 3 grandsons, Jay, Robin & Sgt. Jonathan Shytle, US Marine Corps.; 5 great grandchildren, Gavin, Jackson, Jacob, Joanna & Jordan Shytle; 9 sisters, Gertrude Rodgers, Lois Marler, Helen Watkins, Margie Taylor, Carolyn Bryant, Barbara Gill, Nancy Johnson, Janice Thomas & Annie Patterson; 3 brothers, Henry, Albert, Jr. & Alvin Johnson.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday, Sept. 6 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425
