LaFoye Carl Schuldt

 

Winter Haven - LaFoye Carl Schuldt, 83, of Winter Haven, FL died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 at Winter Haven Hospital due to heart failure.

Born April 24, 1926 in Wagner, SD to Emil and Opal McKee Schuldt he was raised in Iowa and moved to Winter Haven permanently 14 years ago from Boone, Iowa where he was the owner /operator of a retail establishment.  LaFoye was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven and served as Elder in Boone, IA.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WWII.  He also was a member of the VFW, American Legion, The Waggoners Club; and served on the Board of Directors at Oakwood Estates where he served as President.LaFoye took this position very seriously.  LaFoye’s hobbies included Gourmet Cooking, Gardening and doing computer work.  He was known for his greeting cards.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Steven; and a sister, Delores Stout, he is survived by: his wife of 61 years, Glendora; 2 sons, Bruce Schuldt of Eugene, OR and Gary Schuldt of Des Moines, IA; a daughter, Tamara Ameling of Traer, IA; a brother, Robert Schuldt of Ida Grove, IA; 3 grandchildren, Greta Kalar, Eric Schuldt and Sarah Schuldt; 2 great-grandchildren; and 1 step-grandson, Christian Ingles.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 12, 2009 in the Oak Ridge Funeral Care Chapel with Dr. Alan Harvey officiating.  In lieu of flowers please make Memorial Donations to the American Diabetes Assn or the American Leukemia Society.  Condolences may be sent at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
