HAINES CITY - DOY COPELAND, of Haines City, Fl died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 due to respiratory failure.

Born October 28, 1925, in Livingston, Tennessee, He moved here with his family to Orlando, Florida in 1957 and has lived in Haines City, Florida since 1972. He served in the United States Navy from 1943-1946, and received 6 Bronze Stars for Valor during World War II. Mr. Copeland worked for Lockheed Martin for thirty-five years before retiring and was is a member and former Deacon of Northridge Baptist Church and the Polk County Historical Society. 

Mr. Copeland is survived by his wife, Ruth of sixty-three years, his son Larry Copeland of Orlando, daughter Carolyn Sheek of Haines City, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
