Lisa Langhofer

 

Lisa Langhofer

Haines City, - Lisa Langhofer, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, slipped away from this world at her home, on November 5, 2009,from natural causes. 

 

Born in Allison, Iowa on April 1, 1916, along with 9 siblings, she grew up on a dairy farm in Owego, New York.  Lisa spent a majority of her life traveling throughout the United States with the Rodeo, and then was a longtime employee of pari-mutual horseracing at various tracks, spending summers in New Mexico and winters in Arizona, with her then husband, Fred.  After Fred’s passing, in 1974, she then moved to Florida to be near her only child, Hedy and grand daughter, Betsy and settled in Haines City.  Lisa spent her years in Florida wearing out several pairs of dancing shoes and was well known by all her friends for her beautiful dancing with her partner, Walter.

 

Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Langhofer; parents, Albert and Hulda Rudin; brothers, Louie, Albert and Hans and sister Bert.  She is survived by her sisters, Frieda, Marie and Tillie; brothers, Fritz and Ernie; daughter, Hedy Weddington, and grand-daughters, Betsy Aycock and Wendy Weddington, 4 great grandchildren and her dancing partner of 25 years, Walter Sheldon, as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

Lisa was cremated per her wishes and a celebration of her life will be held at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Avenue, Haines City, on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 2:00pm. Condolences via: oakridgefuneralcare.com
