WINTER HAVEN, FL - Mr. Taft Hughes of Lake Alfred, FL passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 at his home from cancer.  He was 62.  A native of North Carolina, born September 23, 1947, Taft moved here one year ago from Illinois.  He was a roofer, a Baptist, and a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam.  He is survived by his sons:  Zachary (Christy) Hughes of Sterling, IL, currently serving in the US Army in Afganistan; Joshua (Brenda) Hughes of Spring, TX; his daughter:  Crystal Collinson of Sterling IL; his sisters:  Marjorie (Richard Gaughan) Hughes of Winter Haven, Shirley Schulter of Sun City Center, FL, Pat Mills of Ottowa, IL, B.J.Clayton of Sterling, IL, and Gladys Horvot of Jolliet, IL.  Taft also has 3 grandchildren
