WINTER HAVEN, FL – Philip Caruso, Jr., 73, of Winter Haven, FL, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Winter Haven Hospital due to throat cancer. 

Born March 29, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Philip and Bella Caruso, he  moved to Winter Haven 10 years ago after working as a biology professor for 30 years at Truman College in Chicago.  He was of the Catholic Faith; a member of the American Legion Post 8 in Winter Haven; the Elks Club; Masonic Lodge F & A.M. and Shrine Club.

Preceded in death by his parents : he is survived by: a daughter, Gina Caruso of Chicago, IL; 4 sons, Ross Caruso of Chicago, IL, Guy Caruso of San Diego, CA, Brian Caruso of Phoenix, AZ and Bret Caruso of Chicago, IL; his siblings, Mary Ann Stiglianese,  Phyllis Trychta and Charles Caruso all of Chicago, IL; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
