Winter Haven - Frank Clements Sleeth, 82, of Winter Haven died May 21, 2009 at Winter Haven Hospital due to heart failure.
Born Aug. 7, 1926 in Greenport, NY he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a retired Postal Carrier and Citrus Broker. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WWII. He was a member of: Grace Lutheran Church; Winter Haven Masonic Lodge # 186 F & A.M.; Egypt Temple; he was the Exalted Ruler 3 times as a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks # 1672; and a member of the American Legion Post 8 where he served on the Honor Guard. Frank also served his community as a member of the Winter Haven Planning Board and Code Enforcement Board for several years, and was on the Executive Committee for the Boys and Girls Club of Winter Haven. He was a graduate of Winter Haven High School and attended Florida Southern where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
He is survived by: his wife of 53 years, Carol Woodgate Sleeth; a son, Douglas Sleeth of Winter Haven; a daughter, Cindy Grondin of Davie, FL; grandson, Adam Grondin and a granddaughter, Amanda Grondin, both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL .
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm, Thursday, May 28, 2009 in the chapel of Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Boulevard, Winter Haven.
