HAINES CITY - Myrtis Russell Holbrook, 87 of Haines City passed away with congestive heart failure Sunday (3/22) at Lake Wales Medical Center. 

Born in Crenshaw County, Ala  on Sept. 4, 1921 to Andrew  and Mary Faulk and relocated to Haines City, Florida in 1960.

Her hobbies included cooking for her children and grandchildren, working in her vegetable garden and her yard where she loved her flowers. She also enjoyed fishing with her sons and daughter.

She was preceded in death by her first husband James (Jim) Russell and her second husband Vernon Holbrook. 

She is survived by:

Daughter Mary Hill of Davenport

Sons: James (Glenda) Russell of Haines City

          Charles (Patsy) Russell of Haines City

8 Grandchildren

11 great grandchildren

Several Nieces and Nephews and Special friends, Myrtis Beasley and Irene Pettis

Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM. Wed. (3/25/09) at the Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City, Fl. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM. Thursday  at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City.
