WINTER HAVEN, FLORIDA - Doris Y. Davis of Winter Haven died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Winter Haven Hospital from heart failure.  She was 83 years old.  A native of Norfolk VA, born September 2, 1925, Doris moved here in 1976 from Midway, Alabama.  She was a Homemaker, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years:  George W. Davis.  She is survived by her son:  Radford William Davis, her daughter:  Joyce (Larry) Akeson, and her sister:  Jeannette (Russell) Swain, all of Winter Haven.  Doris also has 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.  Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 11 AM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the D.A.V. or the Humane Society.  Condolences to the family can be sent to:  www.oakridgefuneralcare.com
