Robbye Jennings Major, age 94 of Lake Wales, Fl. passed away Tue., March 10, 2009 at her home. She was born in Rocky Ford, Georgia on Feb. 17, 1915 and moved to Polk County  in 1925. She and her first husband,  Douglas Jennings who passed in 1989,  owned and operated  Jennings Resort on Lake Pierce in Lake Wales. Mrs. Major was a member of Lake Hamilton Presbyterian Church, Lake Hamilton woman’s Club and the Red Hat Society of Lake Pierce. Survivors include:

Husband, John H. Major of Lake Wales;

2 sons; Tom Jennings and wife Marietta of Winter Haven,

            George Jennings and wife Leslie of Lake Pierce

2 Daughters; Margaret Beasley and husband Jim of Winter Haven

                      Elizabeth Bowen of Dade City,

3 Sisters; Mary Williams of Haines City

                Peggy Todd of Auburndale

                 Arrine Spears of Lakeland

12 Grandchildren

28 Great Grandchildren

 Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM. Friday (3/13) and services 2PM. Saturday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City
