AUBURNDALE, FLORIDA - John M. Jewell of Winter Haven passed away Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Residents Center in Auburndale from complications of renal failure.  He was 88 years old. 

A native of Dearmanville, Alabama, born August 4, 1920, John moved here in 1960 from Oxford, Alabama.  He was a car painter for Haven Fender & Body; a US Army veteran during World War II serving in the OSS, and he was a Free & Accepted Mason. 

John is survived by his loving wife of 62 ½ years:  Frances B. Jewell; his son:  Phil (Shari) Jewell of Winter Haven; and his daughter: Lori (David) Hines of Gainesville, FL.  He also has two grandchildren:  Brooke Zook & Samantha Hines, and his great-granddaughter:  Izzabella Zook.
