HAINES CITY - Felton Giddens of Haines City, Florida died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Florida. He was 77.

He was born June 26, 1931 to James Ira and Latisha Sutton Giddens in Nashville, Georgia and moved from there when he was six years old to Davenport, Florida. Felton was a truck driver working for Citgo, a member of Grenelefe River of Life Worship Center, Haines City and he was a corporal in the US Army stationed at Fort Bragg with the 82nd Airborne.

Felton was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Channell Giddens and he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doris Giddens; sons, James Giddens and wife Janet, Terry Giddens and wife Tracy; grandchildren, Jennifer Denham and her husband Jason, Cynthia Gillilan and her husband Chris, Aaron Giddens, Joshua Giddens; and great grandson, Matthew Gillilan.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Funeral service will be on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Kennedy and Douglas Elliott officiating. Final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City, Florida..
