Walter Carpenter

 

HAINES CITY - Walter Harold Carpenter, 83, of Haines City, FL passed away on June 14, 2009 in Auburndale, FL due to COPD.

He was born March 29, 1926 in Zanesville, OH and moved to Haines City in 1974 from Ohio and Tennessee. Walter worked for Holly Hill Citrus in the maintenance dept. retiring at the age of 78. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zanesville, and a WW II veteran of the US Navy, a member of the American Legion and he loved to collect Pepsi memorabilia. 

Walter is predeceased by his first wife, Ella Jean Carpenter; second wife, Rena Carpenter; son, Gregory Steven Carpenter; stepson, Randy Aytes and grandson, Matthew Bridwell. He is survived by his children, Roy (Rita) Carpenter, Walter (Pam) Carpenter, Jr., Deborah (John) Nielsen, Cheryl (Craig Lenhart) Mapes, Lisa (Jason) Stemm; stepdaughters, Nancy Houston, Linda Capps, Brenda Debil; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; step grandchild and caregiver,

Michelle (Michael) Perryman; several step grandchildren and many step great grandchildren.  A visitation will be Thursday; 6/18/09 from 10- 11 am with the service following at 11 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines city, FL. Condolences may be sent via www.oakridgefuneralcare.com
