AUBURNDALE, FLORIDA – Rene Adolphe of Winter Haven, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Residents Center in Auburndale.  He was 82. 

A native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Rene moved here in 1988 from Brooklyn, New York.  He was a retired Barber, a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where he served as an usher for over 25 years, and he was a Mason. 

Rene is survived by his wife of 45 years:  Maude Adolphe; his sons:  Errol Adolphe of Humble, TX, Donald Smith of Mt. Ranier, MD, Eric Adolphe of Leesburg, VA; his daughters:  Carole Davis of Leesburg, VA and Renee Adolphe of Gaithersburg, MD; his brothers:  Jacques Xantus of Haiti, Gustave Xantus of Queens, NY, Eddy Xantus of Brooklyn, NY, and Frantz Xantus of Haiti.  Rene also has 10 grandchildren. 

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven.  Funeral Mass will be Saturday, 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  Condolences to the family can be sent to:  www.oakridgefuneralcare.com
