LAKE ALFRED, FLORIDA - Mabel Erickson Nelson, of Lake Alfred, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Consulate Healthcare in Winter Haven, Florida. She was 99.

She was born on March 11, 1910 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to Harry Erickson and Esther Johnson Erickson.  She moved to Dundee, Florida in 1950 from Cleveland, Ohio, with her late husband, Ray. They owned and operated Nelson Radio and TV Shop in Dundee, Florida, from 1951 till 1974. She was a member of Dundee Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raynold, five sisters and two brothers. Survivors are her daughters: Marilyn N. Fuller of Lake Alfred, Florida, Bonita N. James of Acworth, Georgia and Carol N. Dunn of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother, William Erickson of Palm Springs Canyon, California; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grand-children.
 
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM. on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Forest Hill Cemetery, Haines City, Florida, with grandson Charles W. Dunn, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, Florida 33823.
