Winter Haven – James H. Draper, 76, of Winter Haven died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at his residence due to cancer. 

Born to Hubert and Wanda Southers Draper, August 24, 1932 in Elgin, Illinois, he moved to Winter Haven over 30 years ago from Merced, CA where he worked as a Police Officer.  He was retired as the head of Security at Watson Clinic in Lakeland and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Draper;  2 sons, Mark A Draper of Rexford, MT and Kent Jackson of Winter Haven, FL; a brother,  Paul Draper of Marion, IA; and 2 grandchildren, Justin Jackson and Derek Sisco.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 13, 2009 in the Oak Ridge Funeral Care Chapel, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven.   In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
