DAVENPORT - John D. Pollock, 72, of Davenport, FL, died January 24, 2009, in Haines City, FL due to a heart attack.

He was born May 15, 1936 in Lakeland, FL and has been a lifelong resident of the area. John worked most of his life in the agriculture field doing various jobs. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict, and he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Davenport where he drove the church bus for 12 years, and he loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing.

His son, John D. Pollock, Jr. predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Mary Rutledge Pollock; son, Edwin Pollock of Loughman, FL; daughters, Ann Perri of Davenport, Wendy Dellasala of Brandon, FL; sister, Katie Jane Michaels of Dayton, IN; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
