ONTARIO, CANADA - Compton V. Fernandes, 85, of Ontario, Canada, died January 26, 2009, in Auburndale, FL.

He was born August 19, 1923 in Georgetown, Guyana to Claude and Gertrude DʼAbreu and has been a winter residence of Haines City for several years. Compton was an owner of Dry Cleaners in Guyana and was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Haines City. He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Enid Fernandes; children, Neil Fernandes, Bruce Fernandes, June Rampersad, Jacqueline Ali, Mark Fernandes; sisters, Olive Bacchus, Shirley Driffield; 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
