Born to Elmer W. Boik and Rose Marie Marth Boik on June 6, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois he came here from Lombard, Illinois in October of 1998. He was a Research and Development Engineer in the Food Containers Industry and a Veteran of The Army Air Force serving during WWII. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Haines City.

Mr. Boik is survived by his wife, Jean R. Bailey Boik; sons, Gary J. and wife, Talena Boik and David W. Boik; daughters, Nancy J. and husband, Robert Ruff and Karen J. and husband, Jaime Schmidt; brother, Edwin K. and wife, Lois Boik; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 am on Friday, January 16, 2009 at St. Ann Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation  at 11:00 am. Father Robert Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida.
