HAINES CITY - Ronald G. Byers of Haines City, FL, passed away 2/19/09 from heart failure following a brief illness.

He was born 9/30/33 in Pittsburgh, PA.  He moved to Haines City in 2004 from Midland, Michigan where he was employed as a research chemist with The Dow Chemical Company.  He was a member of St. Ann’s parish in Haines City and was active in The Knights of Columbus.

 
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Rosemarie Byers (nee Bilotta), his parents Joseph and Martha Byers, and his brother Joseph Byers. 
He is survived by his wife Hilda Byers (nee Holman), his sister Arlene Wagner of Pittsburgh, PA, his children; Barbara (Howard Bunsis) Byers of Ann Arbor, MI, Thomas Byers of Midland TX, Mary (Matthew) Becker of Medina OH, and Carol (Jon) Miller of Midland, MI, and his grandchildren; Allison, Nick, Alex, Samuel, Mark, Dean, Hailey, Hannah, and Joshua.

 
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Haines City.  Family will receive guests at the church from 10:30 to 11:00am preceding the mass. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ron’s name can be made to the St. Vincent  dePaul Society National Council of the U.S., 58 Progress Parkway, St. Louis, MO 63043-3706.
