Mable Carter

HAINES CITY - Mable "Letha" Carter, 73, of Haines City, FL, died February 11, 2009, in Haines City due to respiratory failure.

 

She was born January 12, 1936 in DeFuniak Springs, FL and moved to Haines City from there in 1938. Letha was a homemaker who enjoyed doing floral arrangements for family and friends as well as doing oil paintings. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church of Haines City.

 

Letha is predeceased by her birth mother, Lizzie Qualls; her parents, Jessie Lee and Edith Qualls; husband, Melton Daniel Carter; son, Stacy D. Carter; sisters, Janet Ivey, Verlene Denny and Shirley Marie Qualls and she is survived by her sons, Stanley M. and Christopher L. Carter, of Davenport, FL and Kenneth M. and Keith D. Carter of Haines City; sister, Joan Richards of Dothan, AL; brother, Junior Gavin of Arkansas and 6 grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be Sunday 2/15/09 from 3-5 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Funeral services will be Monday 2/16/09 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
