WINTER HAVEN -  Joyce Frances Lightner Wheelis, 64, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully Saturday, January 31, 2009 of heart failure.

Joyce was born January 6, 1945 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to John “Jack” Henry Lightner and Frances Marie Sturtz Lightner.  She moved to Florida in 1959 and was the owner and operator of Lightners Flowers for 32 years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by: her loving husband of 24 years, Richard Alan Wheelis; sons, Brad (Rhonda) Martin and Bryan (Sharon) Martin, both of Winter Haven.  Brothers, John Lightner of Monticello,Iowa and Jerry Lightner of Clearwater, Fl; her grandchildren, Bree, Brandon, Brooke and Dylan Martin of Winter Haven; 3 nieces; 2 nephews; and was the godmother to 3. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am till 11:00 am, Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Boulevard, Winter Haven.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charles Reich officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
