WINTER HAVEN -   Hugh C. Folkard, 87, of Winter Haven, FL died Monday, November 30, 2009 at Life Care Center in Winter Haven after a short battle with cancer. 

Born September 2, 1922 in Picton, Ontario, Canada, he moved to Winter Haven in 1977.  He was the President of Sun Pac Foods, a member of the Lake Region Yacht and Country Club, a member of the Florida Club and was of the Presbyterian Faith.  Hugh was a veteran of WWII and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force.  Following his retirement, he spent many summers at his home in Canada. 

Preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Folkard; and 2 brothers, Dufferin and Donald Folkard, he is survived by: his wife of 61 years, Mary ; a son, Donald Folkard and his wife Cynthia of Bermuda; a daughter, Daphne Walsh and her husband Orville of Milford, Ontario, Canada; and a grandson, Donald Hugh Folkard.  Sadly missed by Alan and Alex Hanafy. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm till 4:00pm, and from 6:00pm till 8:00pm, Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Boulevard, NW, Winter Haven.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am Friday, December 4, 2009 in the Funeral Home Chapel.
