Dewey G. Duncan

Dewey Duncan

DAVENPORT - Dewey G. Duncan, age 81, Davenport, Fl. passed away Sunday at his home from respiratory failure.

Dewey was born January 4, 1928 in Ft. Green, Florida  and was a life long resident of Polk County. He was a retired Master Electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Tampa, Fla. Dewey served his country during WW II in both the Army and the Merchant Marine. He was a member of the VFW in Haines City and Eastside Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and sang in choir. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed coaching with the little league baseball. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Duncan in 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Denise (Rick) Raymond of Marietta, Ga.;  two sisters, Fran Heath of Valrico, Fl and Evelyn Taylor of Winter Haven, Fl.;  and two grandsons Wayne Harrell and William Raymond,  

Friends may  call from 2 PM. till  Services at 3:00 PM. Thursday (4/16/09) at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 1001 Grace Ave. Haines City, Florida.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Florida Baptist Home, Lakeland, Fl.
