DAVENPORT - Dorothy McLendon, 93, of Davenport, Florida, died April 13, 2009, in Haines City, Florida.

She was born August 22, 1915 to Thomas Farnell and Mary Jane Johnson in Bowling Green, Florida and moved from there to Davenport in 1922. Dorothy retired from Holly Hill Citrus after working there for 50 years, she was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Loughman, Florida and she loved to crotchet.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Travis McLendon; children, Mike and Martha McLendon and her six brothers and sisters and she is survived by her children, Landis McLendon of Davenport, David (Jennell) McLendon of Davenport, Myra (J.D.) Hancock of Davenport, Eugene (Janice) McLendon of Lyons, Georgia, Billy McLendon of Davenport; sister-in-law, Norma Farnell of St. Petersburg, Florida; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Grinstead and Guy Wooten officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Loughman, Florida.
