WINTER HAVEN - Robert A. Sheffler, Sr. passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2008 of complications of lung cancer.

Bob was born March 29, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio and worked at various car dealerships as a mechanic, and service manager.  In 1972, he was transferred from Ford dealership in Fairborn, Ohio to Pontiac Dealership in Winter Haven, as the service manager.  He also owned his own business in Bartow for several years. He was an auto racing enthusiast and a Nascar fan.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Central Church of Christ in Winter Haven.

He is survived by his wife Frances, “Frankie” of almost 55 years, and  one son, Robert Sheffler, Jr. of  Lakeland, and two daughters Belinda Murphy (Kevin) and Valerie Walsh (Mike), both of Auburndale, six grandchildren Meredith, Morgan, Garrett, and Madelyn Walsh and Matthew and Malia Murphy.   Bob is also survived by 4 sisters: Joan Eversole of St. Augustine, Joyce Wells of Kettering, Ohio, Kay Poske and Linda Mills of Dayton, Ohio.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, 10/22 from 6-8 pm.  Services will be held at Oak Ridge Funeral Home at 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven.on Thursday at 11:00 am.
