
WINTER HAVEN - Amuel Paul Paskey passed away October 16,2008. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on December 19,1919. He was 88 years of age.
He was a survivor of the Bataan Death March, being captured and held as a prisioner of war for 3 1/2 years After his release Paul came back to Danville where he met and married Virginia Sowards. He worked as a salesmen for Sears Roebuck for 32 years. Paul and Virginia with their family moved to Winter Haven Florida in 1973.
Paul is preceded in death by his wife Virginia, of 58 years. Parents,Peter J and Julia Paskey. Sisters Rene Sullivan and Silk Thornsborough-Johnson.
Paul is survived by his daughter Paula Paskey Simmons, her husband Tommy and son Jared. Son Jeffrey Paskey Sr, his fiancee Teri, sons Jeffrey Jr.,Danny, and Sean. Great grand daughter of Jeff Jr, Julia. Paul has a sister Genevieve Waclaw from Indiana.
He enjoyed working in his work shop, working in his yard, and visiting friends. He enjoyed fishing and attending sporting events for his grandsons.
A memorial service will be held at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd, Winter Haven on Monday October 20, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. A burial at Bushnell National Memorial Cemetary will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or Cornerstone hospice.
