Haines City – Carrie Mehaffey, born February 12, 1915, she was 93 years old.  .  The viewing will be at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, from 2-3 PM on Saturday, Oct 18, 2008 followed by the funeral at 3:00PM.

Carrie was a faithful member of the church of Christ; she attended her last two church services this past Sunday.  She had a strong work ethic.  She never knew anything but work.  Carrie Miller Cook, mother of Bob and Jerry Cook, married Roy G. Mehaffey June 18, 1945.  In July 1946 they opened Mehaffey’s Jewelry.  They had 49 wonderful years together. 

Roy preceded Carrie in death on November 12, 1994. 

Carrie is survived by her eldest son, Robert J. (Bob) Cook and wife, Anne, their four children, Rob, Betsy, Matt and Holly and grand children, Josh and Hannah Cook, Amy Garcia, Jacob, Jackson and Parker Cook.  Her Second son William J. (Jerry) Cook, three sons Bill, Dale, and Brian Cook and grand children, Josh, Stephanie and Seth, Alex Cook and James Bowman.  Her daughter Doris Mehaffey Brown and husband Bernard Brown, their children Ed and Doug Brown and Brenda Brown Hornsby. Their Grand children, Darian and Devin Hornsby and Ariel Brown.
