Eddie Eugene Lewis

Eddie Lewis

LAKE HAMILTON - Eddie Eugene Lewis age 75 of Lake Hamilton, Fl passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008 at his residence from heart failure.

 

Mr. Lewis was born in Kosciusko, Miss. and moved to Florida in 1965 and Lake Hamilton in 1987. Mr. Lewis was a graduate of Miss. State University  where he was on the Dean's List receiving a Bachelors Degree in Education and a Master  Degree in School Administration in 1957. He served as an administrator, teacher and coach for 33 years in Miss. and Fl.  Eddie served in the Army in Europe during the Korean conflict. Eddie was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed sports to the fullest. He was most proud of his grandchildren in high school and college.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents: William Irvin "Buddy" and Jessie  (Carpenter) Lewis and his son David Cook Lewis. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Alice, sons, Daniel Irvin Lewis (Stephany), Mark Edward Lewis, Thomas Carpenter Lewis (Mary Ann), Sister Mary Irving (Gene) of Kosciusko, Miss. Aunt Peggy Cook (Bobby) of Big Creek, Miss. sister-in-law, Mary Frances West (Bob) of Centennial,   Co. Brother-in-Law Lucius Fouche' (Patty) of Madison, Ms., Seven grandchildren, Amanda Lewis-Riney, Orlando, Juli Anne Lewis Silveira (Nathan) of Winter Haven,  Kelly and Andrew Lewis of Lake Hamilton,  Joshua, Lauren and Mary Catherine Lewis of Haines City, and two great grandchildren, Allyson and William Riney of Orlando.

 

Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM. Friday at the Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City, Fl.

 

Funeral services will be at 10AM. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Hamilton, Fl. with Dr. Ray Larson officiating.

 

Interment to follow at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, Auburndale, Florida  with sons Daniel, Mark and Thomas Lewis, grandsons Joshua Lewis and Andrew Lewis, brother-in-laws Bob West and Lucius Fouche' as pallbearers.
