HAINES CITY - Jack "Junior" Slaughter, 81, of Haines City, died Nov. 25, 2008, in Winter Haven, FL due to respiratory failure.

He was born April 23, 1927 in Cochran, GA and moved to Florida in 1957. Junior was a heavy equipment mechanic who loved to restore antique farm tractors. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WW II and he was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Florence Slaughter; children, Jimmy Slaughter,  Jerry Slaughter, Linda Brown, Barbara Pate, Teresa Loyed, Angie Slaughter Crawford; brother, Bobby Slaughter, sister, Mary Jim Bass, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Funeral services will be Saturday 11/29/08 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
