AUBURNDALE - Jimmy L. Walker was born May 26, 1948 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He ended his journey in this life November 5, 2008 due to cancer. He spent the last 36 years in Florida most of that time in Auburndale. He was skilled in truck driving, management, and crane operation.
He was an employee of Scotty's for over 15 years and then worked at Florida Refuse for many years.
He attended Calvary Assembly of God Church in Winter Haven, FL, and was a Junior member of the American Legion as well as a member of the Winter Haven Boating Club and a Charter Member of the Winter Haven Nautical Club where he served as Vice Commodore and Cruise Director.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of thirty years, Phyllis Kendall Walker, on March 31, 2008. He is survived by his mother, Geneva Walker, of Moore OK; father, Otis Walker, of Crescent OK; son Jimmy P. Walker of Wellston OK; sister Sandra Estes (Derral) of Moore OK; brothers Jerry Walker of Crescent OK and Bob Walker (Sue) of Edmond OK; nieces Debra Turner (Donnie) of Oklahoma City OK; Cindy Vandeventer and family of Edmond OK; nephews Jason Estes (Stacey) of Midwest City OK; Mark Walker (Terrie) and family of Edmond OK; brother-in-law Vernon Kendall (Dee) of Pasadena TX and friends too numerous to count.
Funeral services will be at Oakridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November II. The family will meet friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 10 at the funeral home.
