DAVENPORT - Richard "Dick" Hines, 72, of Davenport, FL, died October 30, 2008, in Haines City, FL due to heart failure.

He was born January 18, 1936 in Alpena, MI and has been wintering in Davenport since 1990 and moving here 3 years ago. Dick is retired from Abitibi Price of Alpena after working 30 years as a hydraulic mechanic. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving as a Seaman First Class, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kissimmee where he was an usher; he also loved to go canoeing, camping, and was a regular Mr. Fixit to everyone who knew him.

Dick is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Joyce Hines; son, John R. Hines of Alpena; daughter, Barbara J. Isaacs of Davenport, FL; a twin brother, Robert E. Hines of Alpena; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 10 am at Trinity Lutheran Church 3016 W. Vine Street, Kissimmee, FL 34741.
